Privacy Policy
How Global Gaming Guild LLC handles your data on the Global Gaming Guild and its WinGamingGear contest programme.
Who is responsible
Global Gaming Guild LLC is the data controller for personal data processed on the Global Gaming Guild (globalgamingguild.com), wingaminggear.com and vega.news.
What we collect
- Account: email, username, display name, avatar, and (for eligibility) birthdate, country, and U.S. state.
- Content: entries you upload and their metadata (title, game tag, description).
- Activity: votes, impressions, wallet ledger, and — for integrity — hashed IP and device fingerprints.
- Payments: processed by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer reference, never your full card details.
EXIF is stripped on upload
We automatically remove EXIF metadata (including GPS/location) from every uploaded image on ingest, before it is stored or displayed. This is a privacy default you cannot accidentally disable.
How we use data
To run contests, prevent fraud, process payments, ship prizes, and send transactional and (optional) marketing email. We do not sell your personal data. Integrity signals (vote weighting, velocity checks) exist to keep competition fair.
Sharing
With service providers (hosting, storage, payments, email) under contract, and with sponsors onlywhere you explicitly opt in at entry time. Where you have opted in to a sponsor license at entry time, that entry may also appear in Vega News episodes on YouTube and in the Guild's Discord server; the opt-in's scope is the limit. Public content (your live entries, username, wins) is visible by design.
Cookies and advertising
Besides the cookies that keep you signed in and keep contests fair, we use three measurement tags so we can see how people find the Guild and whether our advertising works:
- Google Analytics 4 counts visits, pages and sign-ups across globalgamingguild.com, vega.news and wingaminggear.com. It sets first-party cookies to recognise a returning browser.
- Google Ads records when a visit that came from one of our ads leads to a sign-up or a contest entry, so we can measure and pay for ads that work. With your consent it may also use a one-way hash of your email address to match the conversion; we never send the address itself.
- Meta Pixel does the same for ads on Facebook and Instagram.
If you arrived from a link that carries campaign tags (utm parameters, a Google or Meta click id), we keep those tags in a first-party cookie for 30 days and, if you sign up, store them with your account so we know which campaign brought you. That record is visible only to Guild staff and is never sold.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these tags stay off until you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner; “Essentials only” keeps them off, and Google Analytics then receives only cookieless, aggregated pings. Elsewhere they are on by default. You can change your choice at any time: . Your choice is remembered for 12 months.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, adjust notification preferences, and request account deletion. Deleting an entry revokes its display license, except for already-published winner announcements.
