0:00Recruit, your slowest colony might finally load fast, and your mod list might survive the upgrade. Ludeon Studios announced that RimWorld will switch from Unity to its own Waylith Engine in update 1.7. Ludeon promises 2-4x performance improvements across startup times, load times, and tick rates. Ludeon says existing mods and save files will remain compatible. Here's my take. Engine swaps usually put mods and saves at risk, so compatibility is the real headline, not the speed number.

0:35Tick rate is what big colonies live on, so if the promise holds, that's a huge win for players over platforms. But a promise isn't a patch, and I want to see it hold up in your colony. So before 1.7 lands, back up your saves, and read the patch notes before you touch your mod list. Game on, guild. Clutch or Bust is live at WinGamingGear, and entries close October 18th. If 1.7 wrecks your colony, show me the clutch you pulled anyway.
