0:00Recruit, the AI tech that reshapes how your game looks just landed in Death Stranding 2, and its creator is wary. Hideo Kojima has mixed feelings about AI in game development. Speaking about Nvidia DLSS 5 in Death Stranding 2, he said AI cannot understand artistic intention and replace creator decisions. He prefers to maintain creative control, and he does not support AI making autonomous changes to his work. He also acknowledges the technology will likely become industry standard.

0:32Here's my take, guild: he's right to draw that line. If a tool changes a scene without knowing why the artist built it that way, you get a machine's guess instead of the vision. And if this becomes standard, artists should get a say before it becomes your default. So here's your move. Next time a game offers DLSS or any AI visual feature, flip it on and off and compare lighting, faces and fine detail. Then pick the version that looks like what the artists meant.
